Ana's "Pea in the Pod" Baby Shower

So my very good friend Ana is expecting her first baby!  I went to high school and college with Ana and we are all so excited to meet the new addition to our circle of friends.  Since she is waiting to find out if it is a boy or girl we decided to throw her a "Pea in the Pod" themed baby shower.  My friend Sara designs custom invitations and created an adorable pea in the pod invitation for her.

The table was set with white and green dishes and bright green napkins.  For the centerpiece, we filled a clear glass vase with green jelly beans and yellow flowers!

We decided to go with a "comfort food theme" for the menu.  We had a variety of fruit, cheese and crackers for appetizers.  For lunch, we served a variety of warm and toasty panini sandwiches with chicken, pesto, roasted red peppers and prosciutto with a variety of cheeses.  We also had delicious fire roasted tomato soup, baked mac and cheese and a colorful green salad. For beverages we served wine and champagne (for those of us not expecting) and hot apple cider.  Dessert was the best part (as always)!  We had a chocolate fondue station set up while she was opening gifts with strawberries, cookies and pound cake.

The games were a blast!

We played a "Price is Right" baby game which was super fun.  We had purchased a few little baby items like tone nail clippers and cotton swabs and the guests has to guess the price for each item and whoever was the closest won!  And the best part about this game was that the mommy to be got to keep all of the items!!

All of the guests received adorable baby powder scented candles in a pea pod themed tin as favors.  I can't wait to burn mine :)

Overall, the shower was a huge success!  We are so happy for Ana and can not wait to meet the "precious" little one!
